ISCEMR: Scientific Chronology and Development Path

The International Scientific Conference of Economics and Management Researchers (ISCEMR) is a continuous academic platform established by Azerbaijan State University of Economics (UNEC). It serves to analyze the most pressing global economic challenges through a scientific lens.

Launched in 2019 with the primary goal of supporting the scientific potential of master’s and doctoral students, the platform significantly expanded its scope starting in 2022. Since then, it has evolved into a premier international scientific summit, bringing together experienced researchers, government officials, and industry leaders from around the world.

The following section presents the official chronology of the ISCEMR conference series from 2019 to the present, along with the core discussion themes for each year:

Phase I: Integration of Young Researchers (2019–2021)

• 2019: 1st International Scientific Conference of Master and PhD Students in Economics and Management Organized for the first time, the conference served as a fundamental base for young scholars to conduct research and draft articles in accordance with global scientific standards.

• 2020: 2nd International Scientific Conference of Master and PhD Students in Economics and Management Dedicated to the 90th anniversary of UNEC, this event was successfully held in a remote (online) format despite the pandemic, ensuring the continuity of international scientific relations.

• 2021: 3rd International Scientific Conference of Master and PhD Students in Economics and Management Held in the city of Ganja within the framework of the "Year of Nizami Ganjavi," the conference focused primarily on sustainable development and the economic perspectives of national heritage.

Phase II: Global Researchers Platform (From 2022 onwards)

• 2022: 4th International Scientific Conference of Economics and Management Researchers By upgrading its format and status to attract global scholars, the conference centered its focus on the economic restoration of liberated territories and the transition to a green economy.

• 2023: 5th International Scientific Conference of Economics and Management Researchers Dedicated to the 100th anniversary of National Leader Heydar Aliyev under the theme "Economic Outcomes of a Century," the event focused on analyzing the national economic development model in the international arena.

• 2024: 6th International Scientific Conference of Economics and Management Researchers In support of the "Year of Solidarity for the Green World," the conference agenda focused on "A New Era of Sustainable Development: Green Transformation and Climate Finance."

• 2025: 7th International Scientific Conference of Economics and Management Researchers Dedicated to the 95th anniversary of UNEC, this conference brought the concepts of "Circular Economy and Sustainable Ecosystems"—key global economic trends—to the attention of the scientific community.

Vision for the Future: 8th ISCEMR (2026)

• 2026 (May 21-23, Baku): The 8th International Scientific Conference of Researchers in Economics and Management is dedicated to the theme "Artificial Intelligence and the Strategic Choices of Small States." The conference proceedings will be published as an "Edited Volume."
